DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of brainstorming and taking action in October to turn our thoughts into reality!\n \nKamora’s Cultural Corner (KCC) hosts Thinking & Doing Days as Social Justice Service-Learning experiences—opportunities to reflect\, build\, and connect while putting cultural humility into action. These days are not about charity\, but about co-creating justice by asking hard questions\, engaging in meaningful work\, and practicing authentic relationships. \nEach T&D Day includes:\n✨ A shared learning experience rooted in cultural humility and social justice.\n✨ A hands-on project chosen by and for the community.\n✨ A shared meal as community practice.\n✨ Time for reflection and dialogue. \nOctober Theme: Harvest\, Abundance & Community \nThis October’s T&D Day is extra special. As we tend the land and each other\, we’ll also be celebrating Kamora’s 54th birthday (October 9th) with joy\, food\, and firelight. \nProjects of the Day:\n🌸 Creating the Pansy Garden & Shed — a living monument to our Black Queer elders and ancestors and a community anchor in the Heritage Garden.\n🌿 Preparing our Herb Garden & Beds for Fall and Winter — tending to the healing herbs that ground our work in cultural\, spiritual\, and ancestral practices. \nThese projects embody the I.D.E.A. framework (Identity\, Diversity\, Equity\, Application)\, moving us beyond discussion into action that anchors cultural humility in community space.
